How a stone from our earth builds the ceiling of our skY, 2024, Coroplast

How a stone from our earth builds the ceiling of our sky (كيف يبني حجر من أرضنا سقف السماء) invites viewers to interact with fragmented images of land on a plinth exactly 1/1000th of a dunam in size. Evoking the stratification of earth through layers of soil, stone, straw, and flora, these pictured elements are transformed into flattened building blocks. While the disassembled images depict quiet landscapes or immersed encounters with the elements that make them up, what appears natural disguises a colonial landscape.
